Prateek Sadhu was only 10 years old when he began spending time in the kitchen, where his mother and brother revealed to him the secrets of Indian cooking. Instead of launching into the air – he originally wanted to be a pilot – he was drawn to gastronomy. Through his jobs around the world, Sadhu developed his very own philosophy, which focuses on high-quality, local and often forgotten ingredients. From 2016, he celebrated his culinary art at Masque in Mumbai, which received numerous awards under his management and is one of the best restaurants in Asia. For example, it holds the title of “Best Restaurant in India” on the San Pellegrino list of Asia’s 50 best restaurants. In 2020, he also opened the Masque Lab, where research is carried out into new techniques and ingredients. Although Sadhu recently left Masque, he has become quite the entrepreneur: the 36-year-old co-founded his own spice brand – PAUSHTIK.
