Christian Hümbs started his apprenticeship at the age of just 17. He spent almost three years gaining valuable experience at Café Bauer in his hometown of Oberhausen before completing an apprenticeship as a chef. Hümbs has worked at several of Germany’s most renowned restaurants, including a period spent as demi-chef patissier at Aqua in Wolfsburg’s The Ritz-Carlton hotel, where he worked alongside Jan Hartwig. He also spent three years at the A-Rosa resort in Sylt and has worked at Haerlin Restaurant in the Fairmont Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten in Hamburg (2 Michelin stars, 19 GaultMillau points). Since 2013, Christian Hümbs has been part of the jury of the SAT.1 show “Das grosse Backen”. Hümbs has been chef patissier at Atelier at the Hotel Bayerischer Hof until April 2019.
