Kirk Westaway, originally from Devon in southern England, began his culinary career in renowned kitchens such as D.O.M. in São Paulo and the Greenhouse in London. In 2011, he moved to Singapore, where he took on the position of Executive Chef at JAAN in 2015. Under his leadership, the restaurant was awarded 2 Michelin stars and renamed JAAN by Kirk Westaway.
Westaway pursues a philosophy of reinventing British cuisine, combining classic British dishes with modern techniques and placing particular emphasis on high-quality ingredients. His cuisine is characterised by clean lines and a seasonal focus. JAAN is located on the 70th floor of the Swissôtel The Stamford in Singapore and offers panoramic views over the city. The dishes reflect Westaway’s origins and his modern take on British cuisine. Kirk Westaway – like Heiko Nieder – is an Ambassador of Maison Krug. On Thursday, the two will come together at THE EVENING to present an exclusive 4-Hands Krug Dinner, accompanied by the expressive cuvées of the renowned Champagne House.
